Food lovers have a special treat in store for them with Al Qasba getting ready to host the 8th edition of Al Qasba Food Festival.

This year’s celebration is set to be bigger and better than ever before. Not only will there be daily cooking shows and competitions, but Al Qasba’s walkways will also be alive with fun and entertainment, including musical shows and street performances, for the whole family. Each day of the festival will feature a different celebrity chef giving a full 180 minute demonstration. There will also be an exhibition of gourmet foods from commercial exhibitors and local talents and little chefs also have the chance to pick up some tricks at the Young Chef’s Academy.

Taking care of both body and mind,  Al Qasba will be organizing lectures during the Festival about the tenets of Quranic Healing and the importance of the foods that are mentioned in the Holy Quran. In addition there will be an exhibition by the ‘UAE Green Festival’. This is a countrywide celebration which is specifically designed to educate people across the UAE about all the aspects of a green life.

This year everyone has a chance to get in on the competitive spirit with no less than four separate competitions – the Shurooq Staff Cooking Competition, the Employees Cooking Competition-Departments and Companies in Sharjah, the Family Cooking Competition, and the Chefs Cooking Competition.

For the more artistically inclined there will of course be Al Qasba’s famous Food Carving Competition. Don’t miss this chance to see the UAE’s top chefs battle it out in four amazing categories - Cake Decoration, Ice Carving, Fruit Carving, and creating a 5-course Gourmet Menu.
