START workshops, in collaboration with Barjeel Art Foundation

Start Organisation and Barjeel Art Foundation will work hand in hand to help out children with special needs through a series of four art workshops. The workshops aim to bring out the imagination and creativity of children aged 9 to 16.
The culmination of the four workshops will be an exhibition at Maraya Art Centre celebrating the work of the participating children.

Workshop Dates: 16th November, 23rd November, 30th November and 7th December 2011.

Exhibition Date: TBC

Workshop Timings: 3pm – 4:30pm

Location: Maraya Art Centre - Al Qasba, Sharjah

About START
START is a non-profit organisation established by Art Dubai and the Al Madad Foundation which applies the universal language of art to heal, educate and enrich the skills and opportunities of children in the poorest areas of the Middle East. The programme seeks to educate and empower the younger generation by giving them a voice through the expression of art, engaging them with their communities and their peers, and by teaching them a sense of self-worth. In the UAE, START provides workshops for children with special needs, including Autism and Down Syndrome.
