‘RENDITIONS’ Video Exhibition

The Maraya Art Centre, which is an initiative by Shurooq and is ably supported by Du; is proud to present ‘Renditions’ - A series of seven works that are an interpretation of the socio-political events that have unraveled in the Arab Region from 2003 onwards curated by Aida Eltorie. The event will be held at Maraya Art Centre from Monday, 21st November till 18th December 2011.

Displaying a transformation of natural revisions, the essence of these videos is based on seven artists who each in their unique manner defy the disposition of human and environmental descriptions to the manner and vitality of a dream held by the geopolitical region to substantiate and execute three conditions: a growth anticipated, an alteration ensued, and a result unconditioned.

The selection of videos in this series, are observations to the current condition placed on the national, geopolitical, and environmental circumstances in the region. In subtle contrast to fights, resistance and revolution; these videos show a dream, a heaven and an impulsive desire to grow.
